FoSSNet at the FOODPathS Festival: Spotlighting Science for Food Systems Transformation

On 20-22 May 2025, the FOODPathS project hosted one of its final events—the FOODPathS Festival—in Brussels. More than just a typical conference, the Festival brought together stakeholders across sectors to celebrate achievements, spark new connections, and reflect on what effective partnerships look like in the journey toward sustainable food systems. The event was a culmination of the project’s efforts to co-create an ideal partnership model, grounded in inclusiveness, co-creation, and systems thinking.

FoSSNet showcases its work

The FoSSNet project was represented at the Festival with a promotional roll-up banner and leaflet in the exhibition space, as well as a poster developed by partners from the Wageningen University team showcasing the results of the Social Network Analysis. Flyers were also distributed to encourage participants to take part in the FoSSNet surveys on research and educational needs and knowledge gaps in Food Systems Science.

Engaging with diverse stakeholders & looking ahead

Throughout the three-day event, FoSSNet partners from EUFIC, Lund University and IRWiR PAN actively engaged in discussions around fostering collaboration across disciplines, sectors, and countries. These conversations closely aligned with FoSSNet’s mission to break down silos and enable open knowledge sharing between researchers, policymakers, educators, and practitioners working in food systems. Participation in the FOODPathS Festival offered FoSSNet an opportunity to share its work, learn from others, and continue building the Food Systems Science network.
