Connecting minds in Food Systems Science: From the Belgian Context to a Pan-European Perspective

Are you an early-career researcher or an experienced expert in food systems science? Do you want to help build a more connected and inclusive community?
Join us for an engaging in-person workshop that will use initial insights from the FoSSNet social network analysis (SNA) as a starting point. This is your chance to share your experiences, reflect on collaboration within food systems science, and help shape the future of a growing Pan-European network.

What to Expect
This interactive workshop will bring together diverse perspectives working in and around food systems science to explore how we collaborate across disciplines and institutions in Belgium. Together, we’ll identify existing connections, pinpoint areas where gaps remain, and brainstorm ways to foster a more open, inclusive, and dynamic community.
You Will Have the Opportunity To:
- Reflect on the meaning of food systems science as a field and in practice, including its role in driving transformation.
- Share your experiences of interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaboration in Belgium, discussing what helps and hinders effective teamwork.
- Brainstorm and discuss ideas and actions to strengthen connections, enhance inclusion, and build collective capacity across food systems science communities.
